Heads up:
We’re moving the GATK website, docs and forum to a new platform. Read the full story and breakdown of key changes on this blog.
Update: July 26, 2019
This section of the forum is now closed; we are working on a new support model for WDL that we will share here shortly. For Cromwell-specific issues, see the Cromwell docs and post questions on Github.

Long directory paths cause jobs to fail

Is there a config option to force cromwell to use shorter directory names? The extreme verbosity of the hashes used cause several job runners to fail
In my case, using a torque/PBS back end, the runner complains about the directory arg being too long (256 characters +), causing the submitted job to fail.
There have already been reports of this being the case with other runners also (https://github.com/broadinstitute/cromwell/issues/4703)

Thanks for the info

FYI, personally I'm talking about a local run, so everything is contained within a single parent dir, with a limited number of jobs, so concerns about the uniqueness of the directory should be less than when using cromwell in server mode.
