How does Mutect "work"?

hinzechristianhinzechristian BerlinMember

Dear all,

sorry in advance for my maybe very simple questions:

  1. Is there any more advanced documentation on Mutect than in the Nature Biotech. paper or on their web page? That is, something in between the rather general paper text statng that Bayesian classifiers are used and the source code (I cannot go through every line figuring the algorithm out...)?

  2. How are the Bayesian classifiers trained (I suppose, they are trained somehow...)? Are they trained by default or somehow with my data?

Thanks in advance for any advice, best, Christian

Hi Christian, sorry for the late reply. Currently there's not any more documentation on MuTect than what you've seen in the paper and the web page, sorry. In future we'll try to document this but right now I'm afraid we have too much on our plates.
