What types of questions will the GATK frontline team answer?

The GATK support team will primarily focus on resolving questions about GATK tool errors or abnormal results from the tools.

Tool errors - the tool spits out an error and you are not sure how to move forward.

Abnormal results - a tool is giving you different results from the previous time you ran it, you expect the tool to react a certain way and it isn’t, etc.

For all other questions, we are building a backlog to work through when we have the capacity.
Because we cannot guarantee a reply, we encourage you to help out others if you know the answer.
Please continue to post your questions because we will be mining them for improvements to documentation, resources, and the tools.

What questions are out of scope?

We will let you know whether the question is or isn't in scope so that it is clear.
In general, questions in this list are out of scope:
1. Answers to questions that can be found in the documentation.
2. General bioinformatics questions please go to Seqanswers, Biostars, or Bioinformatics Stack Exchange
3. Questions about old versions of GATK (GATK 3 or GATK4 beta)
4. Tools that are not in the GATK
