Executing gradlew script gives IOException:Function not implemented

Hello there,
I would appreciate some help since I was just trying to build the 4.0.5.1 version but I was unable to success. I checked my Java version which is:

openjdk version "1.8.0_191"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_191-b12)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.191-b12, mixed mode)

So I headed to execute ./gradlew and got the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.io.IOException: Function not implemented
at sun.nio.ch.FileDispatcherImpl.lock0(Native Method)
at sun.nio.ch.FileDispatcherImpl.lock(FileDispatcherImpl.java:94)

at org.gradle.wrapper.WrapperExecutor.execute(WrapperExecutor.java:107)
at org.gradle.wrapper.GradleWrapperMain.main(GradleWrapperMain.java:61)

Am I missing anything? Could you please help me?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards.
