JAVA Crash - hs_err_pid*.log

I have a system installed with ubuntu 18.04.1, Eclipse Photon Release (4.8.0) and Oracle Java 1.8. Java gets crashed whenever I start my eclipse. Then it generates a log file named as hs_err_pid*.log (eg : hs_err_pid4725.log).

Eclipse gets closed as soon as java crashes.

Could you guys please help me to solve this. I suspect this is because of GTK version.

Any idea...?

I am attaching the sample log file with this.

    Hi @regingobinath

Looks like this is an issue to bring up with the eclipse team. Why do you say that it is because of the GATK version?

  • Hi bhanuGandham,

    Thanks for the reply.

If i didn't set GTK version in eclipse.ini file, everything is works fine. Since i need to customise eclipse menu icons, I set eclipse version as follows:

    --launcher.GTK_version
    2

Once i do this, the problem starts. Also I did some study on the Java crash message. Most of the users point it out as GTK problem.

Even if its an eclipse problem, any way to solve this?

    Hi @regingobinath,

you are at the wrong forum this forum is about GATK not for GTK. This forum is about VariantCalling/sequence analysis and not for developing GUI for various software.
