Improvements

  • To prevent you from accidentally deleting a group, you will now see a confirmation pop-up after you hit delete.
  • When a page is taking a long time to load, you will now see a visual indication that it is still working on loading; sometimes large pages, like the Data Library, would appear to hang while they worked on loading all the data.
  • You will notice that data tables now have shorter load times due to backend improvements.
  • We've reduced the time it takes for workflow monitoring to appear in the UI after submission.

Bug Fixes

  • You can now download large TSVs. Previously, users were encountering errors when downloading the TSVs with >1000 entities.
  • When you try to delete a group and it is being used in a workspace, you now get an error message telling you why you can't delete. Previously you would see no message and the group would not be deleted.
  • When you resize multiple columns in your Data Model table, sometimes the text would overlap. This has now been fixed, and resizing columns works as expected.

New Features

  • When editing the inputs and outputs of a method configuration in a workspace, workspace and data attributes are suggested as auto-complete options.

Improvements

  • FireCloud is now upgraded to Cromwell 28. For notes on Cromwell's new version, you can read here.
The FireCloud version of Cromwell 28 does include a fix implemented post release of version 28.

  • Previous Orchestration status endpoints, /api/status and /api/status/ping are removed. Both are replaced by the current /status endpoint.

New Features

  • The following endpoints in both Rawls and Orch now return the workflow_failure_mode the submission was created with (if a non-default value was used).
# List all submissions
GET /api/workspaces/{workspaceNamespace}/{workspaceName}/submissions
# Monitor submission status
GET /api/workspaces/{workspaceNamespace}/{workspaceName}/submissions/{submissionId}

Bug Fixes

  • We've restored support for optional inputs!

    • Optional inputs now have no error messages underneath when they are empty. Required inputs will continue to have error messages if empty.
    • You can launch a method config with empty optional inputs and the run will succeed. When attempting to launch a method config with empty required inputs, the launch modal will instead have an error at the bottom and you won't be able to run.
  • The API now enforces the same naming conventions as the UI when naming a method.

  • Editing and saving a method config would sometimes blank out all the values of the config. This was in the UI only, and all of your values were there still, but it was understandably frustrating. This no longer happens, and editing & saving your method config will behave as expected.
  • The page will now correctly update without needing to be refreshed when you edit, save, or cancel while changing snapshots with the WDL expanded.

Improvements

  • The UI of the Workspace Summary page has been updated with a new section describing your access level, and adding the ability to collapse sections you don't want to see all the time.

Bug Fixes

  • A user encountered performance issues when creating and aborting submissions with many (10-20k+) workflows. This has now been fixed.

July 10, 2017

Improvements

  • Email invitations to FireCloud now include information about the Google bucket associated with the workspace that they have been invited to.
  • Email notifications originating from another FireCloud user will now include the first and last name of that user. Previously only their email address was displayed.
  • Email notifications from FireCloud will now show up as being from the user "FireCloud".
  • The context menu's "Copy link address" feature in your browser now works for URLs in the Data tab that start with "gs://..."

Bug Fixes

  • Greyed out workspaces will now bring up the "Request Access" dialog when clicked on.
